Explanaion of the text on the package
ATmega 328P-PU 28P3:

  • P Picopower
  • -P Plastic dip casing
  • U: Industrial-40°C to 85°C
  • 28P3: 28-lead, 0.300” Wide, Plastic Dual Inline Package (PDIP)

There is also an Automotive version. This is not available in PDIP. The temperature range is -40 oC to +125 oC
ATMEGA328P-U is an non existend Microchip part number. If you have this on your processor it might be a fake one
