HDMI
HDMI is hot-pluggable. It supports “HPD” (Hot Plug Detect Signal)
To stay on the save side, do not hot-swap HDMI, or any other, connections
From the specification:
The HPD (Hot-Plug-Detect) feature is a communication mechanism between a source and a sink device that makes the source device aware that it has been connected/disconnected to/from the sink device. When an HDMI cable is inserted between the two devices, the resulting hot-plug detection instantiates a start-up communication sequence.

How much to strip of of the outer plasic and the dielectric depends on the connector used
In our case stripping 2,5 mm outer and 2,1mm dielectric did not work
We were able to get 12 mm outer plastic screwed into the connector
From the backside of the connector to the stopping point of the dielectric is 20mm
So the length of the not stripped dielectric has to be at least 8mm. A good value is 11 mm
The total length of the connector is 35mm
10 mm screwed in of the outer plastic makes that 25 mm outer plastic has to be stripped. 28 mm is a good value
If the outer plastic does not get of easy cut it open in the axial direction
Move back the shielding by impounding it in the direction of the outer plastic and after that moving it over the outer plastic
Make sure all threads of the inner wire come out of the connector in the front
You can use a vice if it is hard to screw the connector on. Do not deform the cable in the vice
You can cut the excess shielding on the back of the connector after soldering
Test is there are no short ciruits in the cable.
It might be an idea to use shrink tube to protect the back of the connector
