Debian based

Some interesting Debian based distributions:

Based on: Nothing, Independent

  • Android from Google
  • GoboLinux is a modular Linux distribution. It organizes the programs in your system in a new, logical way. Instead of having parts of a program thrown at /usr/bin, other parts at /etc and yet more parts thrown at /usr/share/something/or/another, each program gets its own directory tree
  • HelenOS3) is a portable microkernel4)-based multiserver operating system designed from scratch. No Live disk, try out in QEMU. Not in Distrowatch

Others

  • Parted Magic is a complete hard disk management solution. Based on: Slackware
  • List of Linux distributions. Also on Distrowatch
  • Immutable Linux distributions. An immutable distribution ensures that the operating system's core, root filesystem, remains unchanged, read-only. This, makes it possible to stay the same across multiple instances. Things can be changed if needed. This option is disabled by default
