Fraud detection
There are two types of fake flash drives:
One type where the writing of data goes beyond the valid region of the fake drive. The hacked firmware suppresses all write error notifications resulting from writing to non-existent NAND.
The other type where when the writing of data reaches the end of the valid region of the fake drive, the hacked firmware “wraps” the writing around to the beginning of the valid area, over-writing and corrupting valid data previously stored there.
