Third party attributes and privacy

When you visit a website more often than not this website pulls in javascripts, fonts and / or other attributes from third parties. By doing data about the computer of the visitor is send to the third party. Often this is a privacy violation since nothing is mentioned in the privacy statement, or it is to vague and / or to broad. So it does not comply with the GDPR

  • CSS
  • Cookie
  • Javascript
  • Font
  • Image
  • Multimedia
  • Other items

It is necessary, because of the GDPR, the owner of the website has a processors agreement with all those third parties. The reason for this is personal data being transferred to those third parties like:

  • IP address
  • Browser profile
  • Time and date of visit

If you block those attributes to save your privacy more often then not the website does not function properly or does not function at all

Local attributes

It must be possible to store javascripts, fonts and other attributes locally so the visited website stays functional and privacy is preserved

A simple local web server is webfsd

fonts.googleapis.com

wget http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans:400italic,600italic,400,600,300
Use /etc/hosts to redirect. Add the line

127.0.0.1 fonts.googleapis.com
