Uneject an USBstick
Being able to uneject an USBstick is very handy when writing scripts involving inserting and extracting USBsticks.
Below sdb and sdb1 are just an example. Whith
sudo blkid
you can see what the drivename and number of the USBstick is.
When you do
eject /dev/sdb1
the USBstick will not be shown with
sudo blkid
so apart from being unmounted it is also some sort of ejected but still connected to the PC. Mounting does not work at this point.
With
eject -t /dev/sdb
an USBstick can be unejected. Now the USBstick can be mounted again.
When you get an error message have a look at Uneject
