Give an e-mail client access to Gmail
As of 30 May 2022 this option is no longer avaiable: “This setting is no longer available. Learn more”
Obsolete
When you do this, and you access your Gmail account with your e-mail client, you can get:
Authentication failed: -ERR [AUTH] Web login required: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/78754
If so, you need to login to the Gmail webmail client to get it to work again. What the check with your e-mail client interval is to keep it working is not clear to us at this point
