Show the current hostname

hostname

Warning: If a machine has multiple network interfaces/addresses or is used in a mobile environment, then it may either have multiple FQDNs/domainnames or none at all

Show the current IP adres of the computer

hostname --ip-address

Show the FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name)

hostname --fqdn
