Install an other kernel
The mentioned kernels are examples
- Check which kernel is installed with uname -r
- Log in as root
- Install the new kernel aptitude install linux-image-686 or select and install the kernel manually in aptitude
- This also installs linux-image-4.19.0-9-686
- reboot
- When in grub select advanced options
- Select the new kernel
- linux-image-4.19.0-9-686
- Hit ENTER
- Log in as root
- Check if the new kernel is active with uname -a . If so
- aptitude purge linux-image-686-pae
- This also uninstalls linux-image-4.19.0-9-686-pae
- Ready
