Run on X session start
cd /etc/X11/Xsession.d
Edit
vi 98usersOwn
and put the things in it you want to run when the X-session starts. Something like, do not forget the & otherwise 98usersOwn will not finish
gedit &
Then
chmod 755 98usersOwn
Test is by logging out an logging in again
